Miryana (*1984) grew up in Sofia and works as a visual artist in New York. The major concern in her work is questioning the politics of public space and how people occupy it. Her projects combine paintings, performance and direct public interventions to examine situations of social interaction in relation to temporary structures and potential collapse.

She contributed ten paintings and drawings to Brutal Beauty. The painting “Thunder“ was taken for her deck design. We met her in Sofia in the summer of 2010 where she was kind of enough to let us stay at her grandparents appartement. But she wouldn’t join us for a football game. She also designed a Brutal Beauty X logo T-shirt for Brutal Beauty.
